The Examination
Season has arrived.
Board exams, home
exams, public exams, competitions, exam fear, exam
phobia, stress, tension etc. are the commonly used words
of the season .It is rarely heard that ‘Examination is a
joyous experience,’ what it is supposed to be.
Examination is a systematic and careful procedure to control the
quality learning and quality teaching.
Examination is a procedure to dig out information of effectiveness
of the curriculum design.
Examination is a process to reveal the strengths and weaknesses of
both the learners and the teachers and to strengthen
their strength and remove their weakness to make a
learner an achiever. Examination is not merely a
tool of certification but a device to help developing
good learning habits and good teaching habits.
Examination is a joyful experience of introspection and self
assessment.
Then why is exam
fear or exam phobia?
Exam Fear is a student’s psyche to be afraid of facing
examinations due to less preparation caused by poor
learning habits or skills or lack of motivation and
interest, where as,
Exam Phobia is a complex psychological state of mind
where, despite all requisite skills and preparedness for
examination, a student feels nervous to face it. It is
an irrational kind of fear which needs special treatment
and counseling for it’s recovery through a diagnostic
process of identifying the reason of fear.
Dear students! Do
not worry. You don’t need to be the victim of exam fear
or exam phobia.
Keep yourself
physically fit and mentally alert to be forced to work
hard and to be forced to do your best as you know that
the feeling of success comes from doing the right things
in right time and undoing the wrongs.
So, avoid
unproductive gossips or talks with your friends on
mobiles or phones which may develop a negative thought
that your friends are preparing better than you, which
is very harmful for your preparation. Avoid unnecessary
staying out of your home spending time with junk food.
But plan
meticulously, keeping more time for the subject you find
hard. Keep space for adequate sleep and a short period
of leisure and follow it strictly. Be careful of your
intake of healthy and energetic but light food. Above
all, form an image of yourself as a successful one and
keep this image constantly in your mind when you are
getting up in the morning, when you are going to start
your lessons and even when you are going to bed.
After attending so
many classes in school and coaching centre, you do not
lack either knowledge or strength, if you lack anything,
that is your will. Be powerful in your will and crack
the riddle of your exam.
