The literary club of Tagore Public School, Shastri Nagar, Jaipur organized a program in the school hall to celebrate international literacy day to create awareness amongst students about the importance of literacy. Charts, slogans, pictures etc. were prepared by the students and were displayed all along the school corridors, motivating them to join the campaign against the curse of illiteracy in this 21st century.
Nidhi Khetan, XI E, in her speech said that “The day serves to remind us that wherever we are, however much we know, there is always more to learn and be literate. Shireen of XI E, recited a poem on literacy in which she focused upon the fact that literacy is the key factor for boosting one’s lifestyle.
A group song “Saksharta ri udere gulal is rang me rang lo” was sung by a group of young Tagorians to encourage students to make literacy a priority.
A slogan writing competition was conducted in which about 20 students took part and wrote motivational slogans to highlight the significance of literacy. Shebi Bano, Vishal Bhuradiya and Komal Jain were adjudged as the best in slogan writing competition.
The entire program was highly informative.
